Latest on Parkland School Boundary Changes

Superintendent Runcie of Broward County Schools has released the 2017-18 SUPERINTENDENT’S FINAL BOUNDARY RECOMMENDATIONS: Here is the link to read the Superintendents recommendation:
Broward School Superintendent's Final Boundary Recommendation
In order for this to pass it has to be approved by the School Board members at a public hearing on March 1 and then approved again by the members at a public hearing on March 22.
There is speculation that an amendment will be made by the School Board at the first hearing. The recommendation, as written, currently states: Elementary Students residing within the combined boundary of Heron Heights and Park Trails Elementary Schools may be assigned to Riverglades Elementary if seats are not available at Heron Heights or Park Trails Elementary Schools.

This may be a moot point since there are no seats currently available and new home growth continues at a fast pace! Therefore, those most likely to be affected will be the students coming in for the first time which will predominantly be from the new developments. (See below)
