Coral Springs – A city of 126,000 Keeps “Small Town Feel”

Posted by Vicki Flyth on Monday, February 27th, 2017 at 4:07pm.

It has been said that a “small town feel” is not defined by a city’s physical size or by its number of residents, but is defined by the feeling of community! If measured by the numbers, with over 126,000 residents in 2016, Coral Springs could hardly be called a “small town”. But if measured by the feeling of community-welcome home!

One way Coral Springs achieves this “small town feel” is by holding “Slice of the Springs” meetings throughout our communities. The city staff comes to our neighborhoods to discuss relevant issues and concerns. Police, fire, parks and recreation, public works and more come to bring the residents “up to date” on how they are helping to build and maintain the physical and social infrastructures. Even better, they come to address the residents’ relevant questions and concerns – and address them they will!

Each of us must take the time to connect with neighbors and invest in our community’s success. We must work together to help create a feeling of ownership and responsibility for our neighborhoods and for our community. The best way to start – bring your questions and ideas to the next meeting which will cover issues specifically for the Northside and Northeast section of Coral Springs: "Slice of the Springs" / Thursday-March 2/ Country Hills Elementary/ 7 PM
