There was more good news today for individuals in Florida wishing to sell their homes. While the rest of the nation saw a decrease of 2 percent in the median price of homes sold in January, Florida saw an increase of 5 percent; this according to the National Association of Realtors and the Florida Realtors respectively.
Pending sales in the state of Florida have increased each month since May, 2011, while the number of homes for sale statewide fell by 34 percent from one year earlier. This strengthens the theory of supply and demand and shows the recovery effort in the state when property seekers are paying even the slightest bit more for a home that had previously fallen in price.
Keep in mind that foreclosures still seem to have a dragging effect on the overall market, it is still a positive sign when we see housing prices increase, even slightly.
